Save The Last Dance For Me

This is a typical Korean drama – rich boy falls in love with ordinary girl, parents object to the relationship. His 'brother-like villain' wants to destroy the boy and family, and, of course, he also wants to get the girl. It may be nothing new but the story had its strengths and appealing quality to make it a hit series. I was most impressed with the actors who seemed to have real feelings for each other. This is why the drama was a huge success in Korea and other countries including Malaysia.

The story started with a son of a very rich businessman who had a fight with his aging father. After the fight, he drove off in rage and was involved with an accident. He lost his memory. Somehow Eugene and her father found him and took him in. Eugene ran a small hotel in the rural area… and after awhile they fell in love and decided to tie the knot. Unfortunately, the brother-like villain came and tried to kill him but the attempt fail. The incident returned him to the night when he had an accident a year ago. He couldn’t remember anything that after the accident. He forgot all about the little hotel and his fiancé.

His sudden disappearance devastated Eugene. Eventhough she knew that he had probably regained his memory and was living with his family, she wasn’t the type that could let things go easily. After her father’s death she recovered slowly thanks to help and support from her aunt and cousin. She followed her cousin to Seoul one day for a short weekend and guess who she saw there. It turned out, her fiancé was her cousin’s boss. She tried to confront him thinking he would remember her but he thought she was crazy.

Not giving up, Eugene joined the company with some help from the so-called brother and started to find ways to see him. He was engaged to his childhood friend and was annoyed with Eugene’s presence at the company. Despite attempts from Eugene to make him remember her, he still can't remember her and their previous relationship. His fiance knew about the relationship but she was selfish and decided to continue with the wedding. Unfortunately for her, it was on her wedding day that he regained his memory and she was shattered. However, the story did not end here.

After their reunion, it was Eugene's time to disappear.

I'll give this a rating of 8/10. I wished it could have ended when the guy got his memories back... it's a tad too long for me..
